APIL president Brett Dixon urges insurers to support prevention of needless low-speed road traffic injuries ahead of Injury Prevention Day this summer.
In an article for Insurance Post magazine, Brett points out that high congestion on UK roads gives rise to collisions and the likelihood of whiplash injuries. “There is a safety issue to address,” he says. “We have 50 per cent more traffic for each kilometre of road than the European average, and more than double the amount of traffic for each kilometre of road than France. That we have more than twice the number of road traffic collisions resulting in injuries is a reflection of this,” he writes.
