Sepsis is another medical condition that is sadly becoming all too common in the UK and around the world. It is also known as blood poisoning and can cause internal organs to shut down if not diagnosed and treated in time. Consequences can include death or serious long-term damage or disability.
We are seeing a lot of cases involving sepsis after surgery, giving birth and even after something as simple as a water infection.
If you believe that you have suffered a delay in diagnosis of sepsis and was to have a discussion about this, please call our Clinical Negligence Department on 01202 315005.
The report estimates 11 million people a year are dying from sepsis - more than are killed by cancer.
